JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a loving 18-year-old man living in the Rhydyfelin area of Pontypridd with my family and my 3 cats. I enjoy the outdoors and love to be out in open spaces as this is where I feel more relaxed. I enjoy listening to music, especially pop, which I often listen to through my iPods. Listening to music calms me down when I’m feeling anxious. I have autism and can sometimes be challenging but can be calmed down quite quickly with my music. I am double incontinent, so I will need help with my personal care when we are out. I like being outdoors, but I don’t like being around large crowds of people, as this makes me anxious. Therefore, our time out would be planned to avoid large crowds.

PURPOSE OF JOB I would like a Personal Assistant (PA) to support me when I am out in the community and to help with social activities in the area. This role will also provide my dad with some respite as he is my full-time carer. My safety is very important as I have no awareness of danger and can run out into the road. I wear a harness at all times when I am out and need full attention.

HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per week

RATES OF PAY £12.00 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED Personal care Social outing

ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly, and appropriate holiday pay will be given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check, which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
