An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full-time Learning Practitioner in Agriculture to join our ambitious team at Northumberland College. We are looking for someone with current industry experience who is eager to impart their knowledge and ignite enthusiasm for sustainable farming, innovative techniques, and the vital role agriculture plays in our world. A teaching qualification is not essential as full training, support, and qualifications can be given. This role has excellent benefits including 48 days holiday, plus bank holidays and an excellent pension scheme. The role is full-time, but a split role could be considered for the right candidate. The role is based at Northumberland College’s Land-based campus situated at Kirkley Hall, Ponteland. As an Agriculture Learning Practitioner, you will have the benefit of utilizing our working livestock farm and the extensive woods and natural environments of the Kirkley Estate. You will be at the forefront of agricultural education, inspiring students to understand precision farming technologies and to think critically and innovatively about the food systems that sustain us all. About the Candidate The successful candidate will be an experienced, committed, and passionate individual with a strong agriculture background and up-to-date knowledge of the industry. Ideally, their industry experience will cover livestock production, grassland, and forage crop management. Some knowledge of arable and soil science would be an advantage. There is no requirement for a formal teaching qualification as training will be given, and we welcome applications directly from the industry. The successful candidate will teach programmes up to level three, and a minimum of a level 3 agriculture qualification is required. Applicants should have a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English. About the College Northumberland College is the only college in the county serving the communities of Northumberland, offering a diverse curriculum from entry level to Level 6, discrete SEND provision, and Apprenticeships. We have three campuses from Berwick near the Scottish Border, Ashington, and Kirkley Hall, close to Ponteland.
