Are you passionate about anaesthesia and looking to advance your career in a specialist setting? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic Anaesthesia and Pain Management team, led by experts in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Depending on experience, we have the capacity to take on either an Anaesthesia or a Senior Anaesthesia Nurse in our team.
Diversify your skills As an Anaesthesia or Senior Anaesthesia Nurse, you’ll manage a diverse caseload across various services, giving you the chance to continually develop your skills in anaesthesia and patient care. You will support and advance all anaesthesia services supporting Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Medicine, Oncology and Diagnostic Imaging. Providing the highest standards of patient care, you will work collaboratively within our clinical team to ensure the service works efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Working with our clinicians to create bespoke anaesthetic plans for a variety of cases
Prepare patients for anaesthesia or sedation including IV placement and administering premeds
Assist with the safe induction of anaesthesia
Prepare patients for an array of surgical and medical procedures
Confidently manage anaesthetised patients ranging from stable to critical
Maximise patient safety by utilising multiparameter monitoring equipment and react quickly and attentively to any changes
Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to hospitalised inpatients

What We’re Looking For We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Nurse with a strong interest in anaesthesia. You should thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and enjoy working collaboratively with others. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential, along with a proactive attitude and the ability to contribute to the success of the team. We value a commitment to continuous learning, and we seek someone who is eager to build on their knowledge and develop new skills in anaesthesia and patient care. Previous experience in a referral practice is beneficial.
Working Hours This is a full-time, 40hr/week position, working Monday to Friday. We also have a 1:5 weekend on-call rota with time off in lieu.
