The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior receptionist/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels: Opening up/locking-up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate: Good customer service skills. Previous NHS GP Practice experience is desirable but not essential; Friendly and approachable manner; Experience of working in a team; Good telephone manner; Adept in using own initiative when working alone; Experience working in a busy environment; The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively whilst staying calm under pressure; Has a good understanding of confidentiality; Flexibility in working pattern and duties; Ability to cope with and manage change; Computer literate. Emis Web familiarity is desirable but training will be provided. The available hours for this job is 37.5 hours per week, worked over 4 days- compressed hours. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be an essential part of our healthcare team, responsible for managing patient interactions and ensuring smooth operations within the GP surgery. Your core skills in office and administrative experience will be vital as you handle appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and medical records management. With a strong emphasis on computer literacy and customer service, you will create a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently coordinating their visits. Your experience in a GP surgery setting will enhance our commitment to providing high-quality care and support to our community. About us

Holly Tree Surgery is a GP Practice with 6400 patients situated on the outskirts of Farnham in Surrey. The practice has been serving the local community and situated on Boundstone Road since before the second world war, and has been located in its current location since 1963, and the purpose-built building since 1993. The practice aims to provide great clinical care to their patients within a supportive, sustainable environment for the team. This is a dispensing practice and has a close working relationship with the other practices in Farnham. The practice is part of the larger Frimley CCG. Person Specification

Qualifications

GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths A-Levels Previous NHS Experience Disclosure and Barring Service Check
