We are looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking leader to take on the role of Assistant Director for Specialist Services at Derbyshire County Council. This position is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality specialist services for children and young people, including those in need of Early Help, Safeguarding, and Children in Care. You will provide strategic leadership and drive service improvements to achieve better outcomes for children and their families. What You’ll Do: Oversee the strategic planning and operational management of specialist services. Ensure that services are delivered effectively and efficiently, meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements. Lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage resources, and provide expert advice to stakeholders. Your Profile: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in children’s social care, with a proven track record of service delivery and performance management. You will be skilled in strategic planning, data analysis, and financial management. Your leadership style will be inclusive and collaborative, fostering a positive and supportive working environment. Essential Qualifications: Current registration with Social Work England. Commitment to ongoing professional and personal development.
