This service provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women, including a unique, bi-lingual, secure environment for Deaf men and women that provides a pathway to reintegration into the community.
We are looking for an experienced
Speech and Language Therapist
to work in our secure Deaf services:
Bridgehampton
and
Upper West wards.
In this role, you will provide high quality assessment and therapy and plan and implement programmes of care in individual or group settings using evidence-based practice, providing specialist clinical advice to others regarding the management and care of patients with communication difficulties and/or hearing impairment.
You will have access to on-site BSL interpreters, but we can also offer BSL training.

In this role you will: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team Deliver a clinical service for a complex client group, using a range of skills and knowledge in assessment and intervention methods within a coherent framework Deliver teaching/training to staff at the site, under the guidance of a supervising Speech and Language Therapist Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Speech and Language Therapy service Receive expert clinical supervision and peer support Be part of a national network of 50 Cygnet-employed SLTs Why Cygnet? A Diploma/Degree in Speech and Language Therapy HCPC registration and membership with the RCSLT Recognised skills in sign language (desirable but training available) In-depth knowledge and understanding of the client population Good understanding of core Speech and Language Therapy skills and current best practice in Speech and Language Therapy.
