Retail Support: Provide knowledgeable advice on frame selection, lens types, and additional treatments while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Appointment Management: Support the clinical team by managing the diary, booking appointments, and ensuring patients’ journeys are seamless. Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest optical products and promotions to enhance the customer experience. Technical Assistance: Adjust and repair glasses, ensuring a perfect fit for customers. Audiology Support: Assist the audiology department when needed, including booking appointments and providing information about hearing aids and services. Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in a fast-paced environment to meet the demands of a busy practice. Requirements of the Optical Assistant
A passion for delivering exceptional customer service. An upbeat and friendly attitude with the ability to build rapport with customers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Experience working in an optician is beneficial, but not essential as full training will be provided; however, you will need previous retail or customer-facing experience. Compensation for the Optical Assistant
The hourly rate is 20p over minimum wage, a salary of £23,795 based on 40 hours per week. You will also be entitled to a performance-based bonus scheme. Holiday entitlement is 20 days, plus bank holidays, as well as your birthday off and 1 day extra per year, up to 25 days holiday. Private healthcare through Aviva. Hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sundays, which will include 1 weekend day.
