We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Digital team as subject-matter experts in preparation for the introduction of Epic EPR System in areas of Pharmacy & Chemotherapy pathways. You will play a key role in providing day to day management of designated system modules for which you are responsible for, incorporating both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy systems, oncology treatment plans and medication administration support. You will be part of the team in managing the software performance reporting process, liaise with system suppliers, clinical informatics team & keep up to date with developments. Provide specialist advice & guidance on system usage, proposed improvements, and training. Work as part of a team of dedicated Clinical Systems Specialists & Analysts. You will support the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO) and Clinical Informatics Pharmacists in the development, configuration, testing, implementation, optimisation and maintenance of systems as part of the digital transformation of pharmacy services and their informatics. Work to ensure the digital pharmacy strategy is aligned with Trust and pharmacy business plans. Support the implementation and maintenance of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration functionality within the EPR. You will manage the automated dispensing cabinets project, ensuring their optimal use, informatics, benefits realisation, ongoing maintenance and the strategy for Automated Dispensing Cabinet adoption trust wide. Support the delivery of IT reporting systems including clinical informatics benefits realisation. Support the work of the wider clinical informatics team and associated workstreams. Ensure effective management of pharmacy informatics resources, policy and strategy development as part of the EPR team. You will have the opportunity to retain your pharmacy technician practice role in delivering daily and weekend pharmacy services thus maintaining your skills and enabling an up to date knowledge of workflow processes supporting the development and implementation of the EPMA system. You will be based at either Ipswich or Colchester hospital and will be expected to travel to all Trust sites as and when required. About us

Qualifications

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy service Skills, or BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent qualification Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC Accredited Checking Qualification Experience

Proven experience as a pharmacy technician within hospital practice Leadership, management and supervision Training of other staff Collaborative working in a multidisciplinary setting Successful planning and implementation of change Project management Clinical pharmacy working at ward level Experience of Wellsky/CMM or Ascribe pharmacy stock control system Experience of automatic dispensing cabinets Specialist knowledge and post registration experience of digital medicines management systems including EPMA Process mapping Knowledge and Skills

Understanding of pharmacy organisational/structure (local/national) Understanding of the relationship of the pharmacy department to the wider multidisciplinary team Good pharmaceutical knowledge Awareness of national standards relating to Pharmacy practice Understanding of the benefits of electronic prescribing Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Awareness of current national issues affecting pharmacy practice, especially relating to Pharmacy Governance Specialist knowledge and post registration experience of digital medicines management systems including EPMA Disclosure and Barring Service Check
