This post will work alongside existing therapy staff to provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to deliver rehabilitation and timely discharges from our 20-bedded stroke ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision and development of junior staff within the therapy team and some of the day-to-day management of the unit, providing an opportunity to develop managerial skills alongside continued development of clinical skills. You will be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work autonomously using strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills as well as supporting complex discharges. You will demonstrate a desire to work creatively to bring about innovative service development and commit to putting the patient at the centre of your work. BSc/BSc (Hons) and or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy. Registered with HCPC. Post registration qualification in relevant area of clinical practice. Delivering patient-focused care. Case management. Excellent inter-professional communication. Teaching (both professionals, students and patient/carers) and holds a recognised Teaching and Assessing in Clinical practice qualification. Leadership. Management, organisational and administrative. Experience
Evidence of innovative and flexible approach to care and its organisation. Demonstrate professional development and experience. Multi-disciplinary working across a range of agencies/professional groups. Providing evidence-based practice through clinical audit. Assessment and care planning with a particular focus on complex discharge planning. Working in partnership with other agencies. Evidence of ongoing personal development. Experience within a wide range of patient/client care groups. Experience of gathering and interpreting information to shape service development.
