We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our strong pharmacy team in delivering a high-quality service to our patients.

Main duties of the job Are you looking for something a little more challenging? Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated, and have a flexible approach to work? Do you have an eye for detail, good communication skills, and a desire to work within a friendly team? If you answered "YES" to these questions, how would you like to become a pharmacy assistant and join our large, friendly pharmacy team at Morriston? The role we have on offer is a rotational position and will involve working within the pharmacy stores, procurement & distribution, and Dispensary.

Responsibilities include:

Providing a pharmacy ward top-up service to allocated ward(s) and receiving stock from suppliers within the pharmacy store.

Assisting in the delivery and collection of pharmacy items to and from wards and departments.

Dispensing prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients within the Dispensary, as well as greeting patients and staff at our reception.

The reception area is a busy, dynamic environment where you will be able to use all your communication skills to their full potential. Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not necessary as training will be given in all aspects of the job, including the use of the computer system. You will also be expected to attain the NVQ Level 2 within 12 months of taking up the post. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with good time management and organisational skills.

Person Specification Qualifications

5 GCSE A to C grade or equivalent

Experience

Previous experience of working in hospital or community pharmacy

Skills and Personal Attributes

Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

Be computer literate, being able to use Microsoft Office and have basic keyboard skills

Undertake all manual handling duties

Well organized
