Care Assistant for a teenage girl P/T @ £13.09/hr in Morpeth - FTE - £25.5k - MORPETH - NE61 We are currently looking for a Female Support Worker to provide support for a young person to access the local community with leisure activities. You will be required to provide 1:1 support for a Child at home and in the community, always providing close supervision. The Child suffers from a neurological condition and because of this has some health complexities. You must be able to monitor any physical changes, intervene where necessary, and know when urgent medical intervention is required.

Hours:

25 hours per week job share, flexibility can be agreed on working days.

Role and Responsibilities:

Provide an enabling service of various hours per week, this may be in the family home and within the local community and local activities. Understand Epilepsy and be able to react quickly to any changes. Full training will be given. Provide support to administer medication, including emergency medication as and when required. Support with personal care as and when required, including dressing, undressing, bathing, and personal appearance. Support with age-appropriate community and leisure activities, including attending local facilities such as libraries, cinema, arts and crafts. Ensure the safety of this young person at all times. Take reasonable care of your own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.

Essential Criteria:

Have a high degree of initiative. Be punctual and reliable. Be flexible. Have a happy positive caring nature. Have an outgoing personality. Be able to think on your feet and act quickly.

Desirable:

12 months experience working alongside Children or the ability to demonstrate this and working in close partnership with their Parents. Full Training will be provided where necessary.

Rates of pay:

£13.09 per hour. 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata). Hours Breakdown:

Hours can be arranged flexibly with the employer. However, a Thursday evening is always required to support an organized club.

Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer.
