Job Summary

The practice is able to offer a registered nurse considering a career within General Practice. No previous primary care nursing experience is required. Newly qualified nurses or nurses wishing to transition into general practice nursing are welcome to apply. The GPN will also gain understanding of the wider context of primary care through online learning and experiences with the wider community multi professional team. Main Duties of the Job

Each GPN trainee will follow a robust, structured programme, supported by our Practice Nurse Manager. Education and training days will enable the GPN trainee to achieve competencies under supervision. The GPN will develop and be fully competent and able to practice independently by the end of the programme. Responsibilities include: Venepuncture Physical observations - urinalysis, BP, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, height, weight, BMI, waist circumference, blood glucose, peak flow reading Inhaler techniques, swabs, INR POCT, ear assessment Wound management, health promotion, health screening Cervical screening, childhood and routine immunisations Contraception, zoladex injections and travel clinic About Us

Our team includes GP's, Pharmacists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Counsellor, Practice Nurses, HCA's and administration staff. With approximately 15,500 patients we are looking for a motivated GPN to join our forward thinking, enthusiastic team. We have a highly skilled nursing team that deal with chronic disease management and a well organised reception team. Our aim is to deliver a high quality primary care service, which includes most enhanced services. Person Specification
