Early Years Educator Apprenticeship - All Saints Bedworth Academy About the employer: One form entry Primary Academy and Nursery, with approx 200 pupils on roll. We are a split-site school, with the infants and junior buildings a 5 minute walk apart. We serve an area with high levels of disadvantage, and have approx 40% of our pupils in receipt of free school meals, and 35% on the SEN register. Recently (November 2023) judged as overall 'Good' by Ofsted, with two areas judged as 'Outstanding' (Early Years provision and approach to pupils personal development across the school). Overview of role: To work in our Reception class to support inclusion. This will involve targeted group and 1:1 work with identified pupils with SEND needs, or who need 'catch-up' interventions. Key details: Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.30am to 3.30pm) Term-time only (38 weeks per year) Wage: £6.40 per hour Location: All Saints Bedworth, The Priors, off Mitchell Rd, Bedworth, Warwickshire, CV12 9HP Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Duration of course: 19 months Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK) All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role. Full Duties and Responsibilities: You will be based in the Reception class. You will prepare and deliver activities to children assisting them to access the curriculum as directed by the Foundation Stage Leader and class teachers and provide appropriate health, safety, welfare, emotional and behavioral support for the children. Building a school culture and curriculum which takes account of the Church Foundation and the richness and diversity of the school’s communities. Creating and promoting positive strategies for challenging racial and other prejudice and dealing with racial harassment. Ensuring learning experiences for pupils are linked into and integrated with the wider community, the local church and diocesan communities. Ensuring a range of community-based learning experiences, including building links with local churches and Coventry Diocese. Creating and maintaining an effective partnership with parents and carers, including those who may be described as ‘hard to reach’, those with learning disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, to support and improve pupils’ achievement and personal development. Building bridges with the school’s diverse communities, seeking opportunities to invite the whole range of parents and carers, community figures (including clergy and church representatives), businesses or other organisations into the school to enhance and enrich the school and its value to the wider community. Contributing to the development of the education system by, for example, sharing effective practice, working in partnership with other schools and promoting innovative initiatives. Skills & Personal Qualities: Has high expectations and personal integrity with the ability to promote and sustain the values, culture and Christian ethos of the school. Is articulate and approachable with excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to present information to others both verbally and in writing. Will be committed to becoming an outstanding, reflective practitioner with high quality skills and high expectations for pupils’ learning and attainment. Can solve problems and can exercise initiative and independent action. Is pro-active in offering ideas. To work with colleagues in providing for the intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, personal intimate and emotional needs of the children. Qualifications Requirements: GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential. GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) Maths (Grade 4) essential.
