As a nursing assistant, you will provide invaluable support to ward teams and help with direct patient care, which might include: Measuring and observing the physical characteristics/condition of patients, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, peak flows, and weight Assisting patients with the maintenance of their personal and oral hygiene, including washing/bathing, mouth and dental care, hair-washing, nail care, shaving, and dressing/undressing Assisting patients to eat and drink as per their care plan, identifying, recording, and reporting abnormal dietary and fluid intake Assisting patients with mobility, using safe manual handling techniques Assisting patients to use toilet facilities. If you are successful in your application, you will be required to take part in an induction programme in order to achieve the required competencies for the Care Certificate, which is a nationally recognised qualification! You will be assigned to a ward/department area, and the aim is that you will achieve the Care Certificate within the first six weeks of your employment with the Trust. About us

Care Certificate If you are successful in your application, you will be required to take part in an induction programme in order to achieve the required competencies for the Care Certificate, which is a nationally recognised qualification! You will be booked onto the Healthcare Support Worker induction program. This is in-house training running for 2 weeks. As part of the induction program, you will be booked for 2 shadow shifts and will be assigned to the ward/department to complete your Care Certificate. The aim is that you will achieve the Care Certificate within the first six weeks of your employment with the Trust. Qualifications
Care Certificate or commitment to undertaking and achieving the Care Certificate within initial twelve weeks Vocational qualification at Level 2 in Health, Health and Social Care or sector related subject area Level 1 qualification or equivalent in both Maths and English Experience
Experience of working/communicating with the general public and working in an effective team. Able to understand the importance of how to apply Person Centred Values in the care environment: privacy, dignity, respect, active participation, equality, diversity, confidentiality. Demonstrates an awareness of the importance of keeping the clinical environment safe and clean Experience of working in a healthcare team environment. Understanding of risk management and health and safety issues, including safe manual handling. Knowledge of the Data Protection Act. Communication with a range of different people including service users, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates awareness of the 6Cs, Trust values, and Patients First Service Standards. Personal Qualities
