Main duties of the job
You will be an advocate for our clients, working closely with them to identify the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social support they need. The postholder will work flexibly providing a high standard of nursing care in a variety of settings, promoting the health and well-being of clients whilst maintaining a safe, caring, and therapeutic environment. As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will participate as an active member of the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams, accountable for your practice, and work in partnership with other health care professionals, psycho-social case managers, patients, and others in the delivery of care. Registered Nurse with Valid registration via the NMC Demonstrable experience of comprehensive assessment of need including risk assessments Knowledge of safe storage, handling, and administration of drugs, in particular controlled drugs Knowledge and understanding of NMC code of conduct Knowledge of risk assessment and management and its implementation Understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and structures of agencies involved in responding to drug and alcohol issues Demonstrable ability to work constructively with a wide variety of groups and individuals in a range of settings and work roles Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
