We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Isle of Wight, a category B male training prison. Located on the Isle of Wight, 8 minutes from St Mary's Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed. The site currently offers a 24-hour service with shift patterns:
Mon - Fri: 7.30am - 5.30pm
Sat - Sun: 8am - 5.30pm
Parkhurst Nights: 6pm - 7.30am
IHU long days: 7.30am - 9pm
IHU Nights: 8.45am - 7.45pm
The shift hours are on a 4 week rolling pattern and you will be expected to work every other weekend and bank holidays. This position is full time, with an annual salary up to
£43,534
per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering a nurse-led service and preventing hospital admissions
Undertaking medication rounds, dispensing controlled medication, attending emergency response situations, assessing patients, and undertaking reception screening
Delivering non-judgmental care
Building strong links with our partners and stakeholders

Qualifications required
Registered nurse - Adult
Current professional qualification (NMC)
Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP, and national standards
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
