Primary Function

: Responsible for providing quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the care needed to ensure patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities: Independently perform ultrasound examinations exercising judgment to recognize and record pathologies and abnormalities necessary to provide a diagnosis. Review patient’s medical records and clinical information to evaluate patient’s condition and determine the diagnostic information the physician is seeking. Summarize and document findings for radiologists and communicate with referring physicians, radiologists, nursing staff, and other departments about the examination. Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars, in-services, and reading journals. Assist specialty physicians in performing invasive procedures (e.g., amniocentesis and biopsies) by providing ultrasound guidance for needle entrance. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications and Specifications

: A graduate from an accredited Ultrasound program required. A minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required. CPR Certification required. RDMS required. RVT required (Certified Ultrasonographer position only). Care New England Health System (CNE)
