As an HR Advisor at Johnson Matthey Global Services (JMGS), you will play a crucial role in guiding regional businesses on HR practices, policies, and procedures. This includes providing coaching and advice to employees and line managers locally. You will act as the escalation point for complex queries that the hub team cannot resolve, either due to their complexity or the need for a local presence.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and the JMGS HR hub team to achieve strategic business objectives. Your responsibilities will include supporting performance management, talent management planning, employee engagement, and employee relations. Additionally, you will help implement localized people priorities set by Site HR Business Partners to ensure Johnson Matthey achieves its strategic cultural goals.

Your responsibilities:

Employee Relations Support : Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and speak-ups. Manage performance improvement, complex compensation issues, reasonable accommodations, and complex absences. Oversee drug and alcohol testing, and support termination or redundancy processes. Collaboration and Knowledge Transfer : Partner with the JMGS hub to share knowledge on country-specific policies and legislation. Work with business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement HR programs and policies. Collaborate on projects like organization design, workforce planning, and talent activities, ensuring alignment with the JMGS Team Manager. Relationship Building : Build and maintain effective relationships across the organization. Work closely with business leaders and people managers to maximize support from the hub. Provide feedback to the hub team to ensure continuous service delivery improvements. Compliance and Best Practices : Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and support union populations where applicable. Develop HR materials and procedures to comply with company and country best practices, regulations, and standards. Coach Vilnius-based HR Advisors on country-specific policies and practices. Case Management and Reporting : Collect, analyze, and provide insights/reports on casework and HR advisory activities. Investigate and provide recommendations on employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, and speak-ups. Assess risks in employee relations decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and policies. Continuous Improvement : Maintain regular contact with people managers, HRBPs, and HR Managers to meet business requirements. Identify and solve potential problems, contribute to service improvement opportunities, and advocate for the use of the ticket system within HR. Analyze HR processes for errors and risks, and collaborate on HR-related improvement projects.

Requirements for the role:

At least a few years of experience performing similar duties as an HR advisor, BP or similar. Working knowledge of country and state-specific employment law. Experience advising different levels of the organisation and in levels of complexity. Conducting and supporting managers through complex disciplinary, grievance and Speak Up investigations. Experience coaching people managers and employees. ER case management experience (grievance, discipline, investigations).
