In this role you will be answering telephone, face-to-face or online queries, finding out what the needs of the patients are and how the GP practice can best help them. This role is busy and diverse, and we are looking for candidates who would thrive in these situations. We are looking for people with good IT skills including using email and Word. We use the EMIS clinical system for appointments which you will be trained to use. Job responsibilities
Job summary To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to: Greeting and directing patients face to face or via telephone. Effective use of the appointment system. Booking appointments. Processing of information and assisting patients as required. Acting as the central point of contact for patients. Distributing information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team. Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers. Applicants must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent and have experience of working with the general public. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong IT skills, effective time management (planning and organising), and the ability to work as a team member and autonomously. Must be flexible to work outside of core office hours and be prepared to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS). Experience
