As a Substance Misuse Community Nurse, you will assume a vital role in the substance misuse support system of the Scottish Isles. Working closely with individuals, families, and local healthcare teams, your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, and delivering comprehensive care to those facing substance misuse issues. This role entails close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the provision of holistic and patient-centred care. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals dealing with substance misuse challenges and develop personalised care plans. Provide ongoing support and intervention for individuals experiencing substance misuse issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychologists, and addiction specialists. Offer education and guidance to clients and their families to enhance understanding and coping mechanisms related to substance misuse. Administer medication and monitor its effectiveness, as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Participate in crisis intervention and emergency response as necessary. Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with substance misuse issues. Engage in health promotion and community education initiatives related to substance misuse. Requirements: Registered Nurse with a valid licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Post-registration qualification in Substance Misuse Nursing or relevant field. Experience working as a Substance Misuse Community Nurse is desirable. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
