MRP Manager

to join our New Product Development Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover. Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Please note that this is a site-based role Your key responsibilities will include: Converting planning schedules and forecasts to the right volume of material inbound to the business from our supply chain. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice MRP vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Ensure material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively to ensure supply meets planning requirements with minimum stock levels while optimising costs. Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery, and take any follow-up actions, especially in the event of material shortages that affect production. Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions. Manage inventory risk, escalating and recommending solutions to colleagues to address operational risks and impact on customer service. Develop and implement flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Take responsibility with the Commercial Team for obsolete parts and write-offs to ensure the business is left with limited liability and waste. Develop strategic and operational information, reports, and metrics to share with the business. Report on achievement targets and identify any corrective action with line manager support. Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvement. Set direct report objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports. Monitor and ensure that direct reports maintain accurate material schedules to get the right materials on site at the right time. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time materials supply. Work with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions. Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings and change processes with effective material planning. Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers. Contribute in supplier review meetings reporting on supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives. Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the overall Procurement Team. Work with the Head of Procurement to ensure purchasing strategies are maximised and supplier service aligns with material requirements. Ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all colleagues. Support, encourage, and develop a team. What are we looking for? Experience of working in a materials planning role and managing the smooth supply of materials in line with production requirements and budget. Skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships. Commercial and financial acumen. Results-oriented and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines. Proven analytical, planning and problem-solving skills, project management skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisation. Computer literate, especially Excel skills. What's in it for you?
