MSAT Team Leader - 6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Closing Date for Applications - 1st January (COB)

This is a site-based role in Worthing, UK.

At our GSC Worthing site, we have a proud heritage in global manufacture of oral antibiotics (solid dose and dry powder suspension). The site also manufactures bulk export material for use at other manufacturing sites in our network.

This role will take responsibility for leading a technical team with the wider MSAT team of technologists responsible for supporting the Orals Value Stream through resolution of day-to-day technical issues, investigation of plant investigations/customer complaints, and implementation of projects in line with the site's breakthrough objectives.

In this role you will:

Identify opportunities to improve the Worthing Orals Business through robust problem-solving and continuous improvement, ensuring delivery of corrective actions, preventative actions, and minor projects against measurable targets. Lead the team to ensure robust delivery of day-to-day support for end-to-end site operations and systems, addressing issues with appropriate urgency and managing conflicting priorities to support order fulfilment. Provide troubleshooting support for production processes and equipment, supporting process and technical investigations, and developing effective corrective and preventative actions. Manage talent, capability, and development of the team to ensure it possesses the necessary skills to support business needs. Ensure process support activities are planned, resourced, and completed on time to maintain control of local KPIs, highlighting risks and removing roadblocks where possible. Enhance site capability through cross-functional coaching, training, and personal engagement. Provide technical leadership and expert input for all business processes, projects, investigations, and complex issues (e.g., product performance), using a data-driven approach for issue resolution.

Why you?

Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Degree level qualification (or strong equivalent experience) in an appropriate discipline. Strong ability to manage and influence stakeholders at site and the wider business. Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated Project Management skills and experience, particularly on major technical and/or capital projects. Thorough knowledge of GMP and Regulatory requirements. Ability to use and interpret data to drive decision making at tactical level. Proven capabilities in enabling and driving change, delivering solutions, developing people, and building relationships across multiple interfaces and in a matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Thorough operational knowledge of manufacturing unit operations and plant/laboratory equipment. Experience in Operational Excellence tools, and use of process performance metrics. Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organisation.

Manufacturing at the Worthing site is for antibiotics. It is advised that you take this into consideration when deciding to apply for this position. We cannot accept applications from individuals that have an allergy to penicillin due to Health and Safety.
