We are recruiting for a MRI Specialist Radiographer who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the

Main duties of the job The successful Band 6 post holder will have responsibility for the provision of high quality MRI scans within the imaging department limited to the scope of band 6 MRI Specialist Radiographer. Will consider Band 5 trainee post.

As a MRI Specialist Radiographer you will ensure and maintain a high personal standard of clinical excellence, be required to attend training and train other staff as required.

The MRI Specialist Radiographer will work in partnership with radiology staff, CAS/ICATS - clinical and non-clinical, interprofessional teams across the Trust and outside the Trust and patients, carers and relatives.

To travel between sites on a rotational rota.

All candidates will be required to participate in occasional rotation in X-Ray.

Job responsibilities

Participate and maintain high quality MRI scanning techniques.

Undertake intravenous hand or injector pump injections under PGD compliance.

Maintain professional knowledge base and status by attending seminars and courses within works time as agreed by MRI Service Lead.

Complete and maintain all required mandatory training as required.

Conduct that is consistent with the Trust's policies and procedures.

Show a caring and responsible attitude towards patients in respect to their dignity, privacy and cultural diversity.

To adhere to, and encourage other disciplines, to acknowledge local rules and MRI safety.

Maintain an up to date CPD record keeping up to date with current trends and developments.

Ensure that a smooth and efficient service is maintained in MRI Department reporting any issues that hinder this to the MRI Service Lead.

To ensure that at all times the MRI unit is a safe environment for Patients and Staff by understanding and following local rules specific to MRI.

To travel between sites on a rotational rota.

Person Specification Qualifications

Degree in Radiography or recognised equivalent.

Registered with the Statutory Board of Health Care Professions Council.

Evidence of MRI Scanning over a wide range of MRI exams.

Cert of IV cannulation.

Knowledge

Knowledge of MRI QA.

MRI safety and awareness.

Knowledge of MRI Parameter manipulation.

Knowledge of patient information systems.

Experience

Minimum 18-24 months MRI scanning.

Experience of routine and non-routine MRI protocols.

Experience of day to day running of MRI day lists PACS / RIS / IEP.

How would you ensure you represent MFT in a positive way?

Skills

Ability to produce a wide range of high quality MRI scans.

Participate in Clinical Audit Venous cannulation.
