The purpose of the role is to: Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies. Provide an efficient audio, copy typing, and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes typing letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc., and processing patient referrals via the e-referral system. The post holder must have excellent communication skills and ideally be familiar with Emis and Docman computer systems. There will be a requirement to perform general administration duties and the successful applicant will be able to multi-task and prioritize workload. A knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous although full training will be provided. The salary will be negotiable dependent on experience. About us
