£18 an hour plus holiday pay. About Us: Get Further is an award-winning charity that supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop the skills they need to progress onto higher-level courses, apprenticeships, and into the workplace. We deliver tailored tuition for GCSE and Functional Skills, offering valuable extra support to help students secure gateway qualifications. About the Role: As a Maths or English Tutor, you will support students in further education or completing an apprenticeship to develop the skills they need to pass gateway qualifications and unlock opportunities. Our Maths or English Tutors deliver a bespoke curriculum, fully-resourced and designed by expert teachers, with no lesson planning or preparation needed. Our tutors do this through in-person, small-group sessions of 1-3 students. Sessions are 1-1.5-hour blocks, typically held within working hours Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the life chances of students helping them to improve their skills and achieve key qualifications that open doors for future study and work. About You: We're seeking individuals who believe in our mission and demonstrate:

Passion for tackling educational inequality, with a clear understanding of the challenges faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and engage students effectively. Resilience and professionalism, committed to consistently delivering high-quality tuition and supporting students to achieve their full potential. Insight and empathy into the challenges facing students today, able to build rapport and foster positive relationships with students and college staff. Aptitude for building and managing relationships, collaborating effectively with students and staff to support student progress and success. Commitment to living our organisational values of boldness, optimism, ambition, and tenacity, understanding the importance of embodying these values in every aspect of the role. Requirements:

Eligibility to work in the UK. Minimum C grade in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent). Relevant A-level or equivalent qualification at grade B or above. Must either have obtained a minimum of 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree or be working towards one. Commitment to safeguarding and protecting student wellbeing. In Return:

£18 per hour of tuition delivered plus holiday pay. 2 full days of paid training delivered by subject specialists. 2-20 working hours per week, at the same time each week, matched to your given availability. Resources provided for tuition sessions, with full training on how to deliver them effectively.
