THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Officer to work within the Long Term Care Team based at Block A, Neath Port Talbot Hospital to cover Maternity Leave for 12 months. The post holder will manage and oversee the administration of the Long Term Care office providing an effective and efficient support service for the Long Term Care Team, its staff and members, responding to the demands made from the public or the NHS health bodies and organisations. Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing support to the Long Term Care Manager in terms of diary management, planning and co-ordination of meetings, liaison with partners and internal and external stakeholders and secretarial duties. The post holder is responsible for the day to day operational processes in relation to the planned respite care contract. This includes communicating with families and carers, the nursing home, ambulance services. The post holder is also required to develop and maintain the respite care database. The post holder is required to log all incoming administrative work and allocate tasks on a daily basis to the team's administrative assistants. It is also the responsibility of the post holder to ensure that all tasks are prioritised and completed to meet deadlines. The post holder has supervisory responsibility for administrative assistants. The Post holder is the named person responsible for the dispatch of sensitive/secure items which must be taken to a post office and sent using a recorded delivery service. The post holder will be responsible for holding and accounting for a small petty cash float undertaking the necessary check balances with finance officers. About us

Qualifications

Good standard of education (minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade C or above including Maths and English) Computer literate, competent in Microsoft Office Applications - Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Word. Excellent understanding of NHS policies specifically Long Term Care, knowledge of Office Management Systems Evidence of continuing Professional and/or personal development An understanding of current NHS Services Experience of project management processes proven, evaluation and audit skills Experience

Basic understanding of accountancy. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills. Good networking skills. Experience of Supervising Staff Previous experience in administration in the NHS Experience of working within the NHS Disclosure and Barring Service Check
