The Royal Devon is seeking to appoint a consultant in Gynaecology to join our services based at Royal Devon and Exeter (RDE) hospital in Exeter. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to develop services in our Gynaecology department. This is a replacement post to support ongoing service with the upcoming retirement of one of our senior consultants. Special interest in benign gynaecology, colposcopy and ambulatory gynaecology is preferred. Candidates should ideally have an accreditation in colposcopy with the expectation of taking on a lead role in Colposcopy for the department. However, this is not a requirement and applicants with other special interests will be considered. It is essential that the postholder is able to offer major gynaecology operating to support the needs of the service. Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

There is a 1 in 8 non-resident gynaecology on-call commitment. There is an expectation that these on-calls support the on-call obstetrician when an obstetric emergency necessitates complex operating. The successful applicants will be part of a friendly, hard-working, and motivated team dedicated to the recovery of gynaecological services and the continuous development, improvement and delivery of excellent gynaecological care. To support this, you'll be encouraged and supported to participate in exciting, innovative and new service development projects within the department according to service requirements and your special interests and skills.
