Microbiology & Food Safety Technologist
to join a well-established family firm that produces over 19 million high-quality sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and salads each year. Along with a salary of up to £26,000 per annum, you will also receive extensive and comprehensive training. Since 1988, they have grown from a small, local operator into a £25m+ turnover national supplier.
As Microbiology & Food Safety Technologist, you will: Conduct sampling for microbiological system requirements with the collection and submission of samples. Collect investigative sampling for abnormal laboratory results and communicate internally, externally, and with business stakeholders. Support investigations into abnormal lab results. Conduct shelf-life assessment sampling and support shelf-life analysis. Support microbiological risk assessments and trending. Conduct administrative tasks related to microbiological data (such as lab results filing, and communication with suppliers and customers). Support daily technical functions including internal auditing, artwork/label approval, equipment calibration checks, and document control.
We’re looking for a Microbiology & Food Safety Technologist with: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and attention to detail. Enthusiasm and passion for food safety. Analytical and technical skills. Understanding of food safety and quality. Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment in a similar role. Minimum level 3 qualification in food safety management/microbiology. Familiarity with Windows, MS Word, Excel.
