University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to assist in the service delivery of the Discharge Lounge.

The Discharge Lounge operates Monday-Friday 8am-8pm based at both Bournemouth and Poole sites. Our aim is to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our patients transferring from hospital to home and to support timely flow and bed availability in UHD.

Applicants will be expected to be flexible to a developing service, have an innovative approach to meet the needs of the patients and service. Applicants should meet the essential requirements and recent experience working as a Staff Nurse and experience in discharge planning would be desirable.

This role requires an active UK NMC Registration

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital

Person Specification Qualifications

NMC registered Nurse

Educated to degree level or relevant experience/qualifications.

Post graduate studies or a desire/willingness to attend

Experience

Minimum of 12 months at pay band 5 within the relevant speciality

Good communication skills and able to work independently and on own initiative.

Previous NHS experience

Developing policies and protocols

Technical Skills Competencies

Computer literacy with a wide range of software, databases, and spreadsheets.

Experience of administration of medicines.
