Our client is a leading UK Design Consultancy, delivering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions in the Built Environment. They have a diverse range of clients and a portfolio of projects covering industrial, pharmaceutical, residential, commercial, education, defence, probation, and domestic sectors. Due to their quality of service, a large percentage of their work is repeat business based on years of partnerships, even with generations of the same family.

Due to continuing demand, their busy Scarborough Structures Team has an opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join their buoyant office, working on projects in Yorkshire and further afield. They are looking for a motivated Engineer with a minimum of five years UK industry experience to join their team and work on a wide range of projects with various clients, contractors, and architects. The projects include concrete frame, steel frame, medium to high-rise design, and existing structures across sectors such as residential, commercial, refurbishment, and industrial.

Providing proactive leadership, you will help lead a team of creative, dedicated engineers across an array of exciting projects. Using software to assist with calculations and structural design such as MasterSeries, Tekla, CSC FastTrack, or Strand7, you will be skilled at preparing, detailing, and reviewing drawings while supervising CAD Technicians in their preparation. You will work collaboratively with engineers in other disciplines such as geotechnical and civil/infrastructure design and be comfortable supervising, mentoring, and checking work for Graduates, Engineers, and Technicians.

Further responsibilities will include working with clients and other Engineers to project manage a variety of projects. You will support the building design aspirations, functionality, and architectural form throughout the design process. You will set a strong example of client care and general consultancy and support the existing team of Engineers and Graduates to do the same while maintaining responsibility for the financial performance of your projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design.

Assisting in the preparation of design quotes, writing reports, and attending client and project meetings to build relationships and discuss their needs, requirements, and any design issues, you will be Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE or IStructE and have hands-on design experience with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
