As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for the assessment of needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care. You will also be expected to ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatments including the custody, storage, and administration of medicines. Ravenswood House is a medium secure unit providing assessment, care, and treatment for adults with serious mental illness or personality disorder who need to receive their care in a medium secure environment. Most of our patients have either committed a criminal offence or have challenging behaviour. Main duties of the job

As a Charge Nurse, you will take charge of a ward regularly and accept duties as delegated by the clinical ward manager. You will support the management of a ward including the deployment, supervision, and teaching of staff/students and resources. You will be responsible for assessing individual care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care as well as setting standards of care. You will take responsibility for the management, deployment, and supervision of junior staff in the unit throughout the span of duty when on night duty. About us

Qualifications

Registered Mental Health/ Learning Disability Nurse with Professional NMC Registration In-depth post-qualification experience at Band 5 working in mental health Clinical Supervision Training Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year based on full-time hours.
