Personal Care Assistant for a teenager

32.5 hr/wk @ £16.41/hr in Blyth - Term-time - Blyth - NE24 To provide support for up to 32.5 hours per week during term time weeks. To work with a young adult to enable him to access community and leisure activities and to enable his independence. We're seeking a supportive and enthusiastic individual to work with a young man (15 years old) who is currently engaged in an alternative education program (EOTAS). As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping this young man reach his full potential. You will work collaboratively with his parents and other professionals to foster his independence, learning, and social skills. Key Responsibilities:

Practical Support: Assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and other practical tasks. Social Engagement: Encouraging social interaction and participation in activities like forest school, gym, and outdoor adventures. Emotional Support: Helping to manage challenging behaviours and promoting positive mental health. Educational Support: Supporting learning opportunities, both structured and unstructured. Communication: Maintaining open and effective communication with the young man, his family, and other professionals. The Ideal Candidate Will:

Be Passionate - Have a genuine interest in working with young people with disabilities. Be Patient and Understanding - Be able to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations. Be Creative and Flexible - Be able to adapt to changing circumstances and find new ways to engage the young man. Be Physically Fit - Be able to participate in outdoor activities and physical exercise. Be a Good Communicator - Be able to communicate effectively with the young man, his family, and other professionals. About the Young Man:

This young adult is a sociable and humorous young man who enjoys football, crafts, trains, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He has autism, ADHD, and a mild learning disability. While he may find traditional educational settings challenging, he thrives in activities that spark his interest.
