£13.25 - £13.75 per hour depending on qualifications and experience Full-time:

45.5 hours per week For this role you MUST hold a QCF Level 3 or be already working towards it, have experience in childcare and hold a current UK Driving Licence. Priority Childcare provides real support from real people. We are focused on the future, and our small and welcoming homes are staffed by teams of supportive carers who build trusting relationships with children and enable them to feel safe, secure, and cared for. We care for children who have support needs associated with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and work with them to help them meet their full potential and transition towards independence. Tegfan is registered to support individuals between 5-19 years old. Situated in Gowerton, West Wales and close to Swansea City Centre, Tegfan is close to all amenities, bus and train routes as well as being close to Swansea and routes to Cardiff. The home is just a fifteen-minute drive to the fantastic Gower coast, wonderful beaches and tourist attractions and a short drive will take you to the beautiful Brecon Beacons. The home is set within 2 acres of land with its own driveway. A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare involves: Providing leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best resident care practice and optimal outcomes for the children. Improving the quality of life of the children who live in the home including preparing healthy meals. Promoting the rights of the children to be treated with dignity and respect in every aspect of their lives. Establishing supportive relationships with the children and encourage the development of stable relationships between the children and other staff, and their families and friends. Ensuring that all care plans, key-working files and care files are updated and accurate and maintained. Supporting the staff team in their role of key-worker and facilitate training as required. Ensuring the protection of resident students from significant harm, by exercising vigilance, observing changes in the children’s behaviour or appearance. To be a successful Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare, you’ll need: QCF Level 3 is essential or currently working towards. A can-do attitude, caring and reliable nature. Compassion and empathy. Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice. A strong work ethic. Ability to work flexibly. Hold a current valid driver’s license.
