The Colne Practice in Rickmansworth has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic paramedic to join our team on a part-time basis, for 3 days per week. As a paramedic, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to develop and implement effective patient management plans. Main duties of the job

Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge. Assess, plan, treat and refer patients, carrying out consultations in the surgery or the community as an autonomous practitioner. Use own clinical judgement to diagnose and treat patients either face to face consultation, clinical telephone triage and other mediums. Make appropriate referrals to primary, secondary and social services care, following practice. Follow pathways and protocols. Deliver quality clinical care in a timely manner to patients. Prescribe medicines as indicated, and appropriate, to address patient need, according to medicines management policy, NMC standards or referring to registered GP as necessary. Recognise and initiate where appropriate relevant diagnostic investigations, using skills in this area to take the correct course of action. About us

The Colne Practice is a friendly GP practice with a list size of approximately 10,500 patients. Our team comprises 7 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 1 HCA, 2 clinical pharmacists and reception and admin teams.We have on site staff parking. Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have post-registration experience. Minimum of two years (or equivalent) post qualification experience. Experience

Triage and patient examination skills. Knowledge of acute and long-term conditions. Must be prepared to undertake home visits to patients or care homes. Worked within a primary care setting (GP practice). Experience of Emis Web clinical system. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
