SEND Teaching Assistant Middlesbrough Up to £450 per week About the role Connex Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a full time role within a secondary school in Middlesbrough to support children aged 11 – 16 within the classroom who have special educational needs (SEN). About the school This position is based in a large and diverse secondary school in the Middlesbrough area, which has a strong emphasis on supporting students with SEN needs and ensuring they have excellent provision in place. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting KS 3 and 4 students within the classroom. Assignment Details This role will commence in January and will last for the remainder of the academic year. This is a full-time role during term time, so you must be available Monday – Friday. Duties will involve providing learning support on a 1:1 or small group basis, implementing personalised learning programs, monitoring student progress, and assisting teachers in an inclusive classroom environment. Person Specification Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH conditions. Must be 21 or over. Must have UK school-based experience. Knowledge of child development and learning needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must hold a DBS on update service or be willing to apply for one. Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed. Good organization and multitasking abilities.
