The post holder will work as a specialist nurse for children and young people's mental health and eating disorders on the acute paediatric ward. The role will involve care planning and delivery for in-patients and out-patients under the management of the Band 7 mental health liaison nurse and clinical guidance of the ED service and ward paediatricians and local CAMHS services. Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most. Job responsibilities

Eating Disorder Service To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), providing a range of ED interventions determined by integrated specialist pathways to children and young people (CYP) and their parents/ carers. To participate in weekly MDT meetings. To attend regular ED team meetings. To attend occasional CAMHS clinics as workload allows. MDT Clinics (Tuesdays 9am - 4pm) To attend MDT ED Clinics as part of the MDT, reviewing patients as part of the team, under the guidance of the lead Paediatricians and with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) input. Clinic time to include teaching basic emotional regulation techniques. Clinic time may also include meal/snack support as an interim intervention for that CYP. To clearly explain ward admissions to CYP and their parents/ carers. Nurse Led Clinics- (Monday evenings 5pm to 8pm) To provide Nurse Led Clinics, under the guidance of the lead Paediatricians and with CAMHS input. Ward Team - inpatient care To attend MDT weekly meetings. To be key named nurse for specific inpatients attending relevant MDTs. To support ward team in the delivery of current standard ED care plans. To support ward team with the creation and delivery of individualised, comprehensive care plans. To act as a positive role model, providing support to other team members and students as appropriate. To provide parents and carers with training in relation to supporting their child/ young person to eat while on the ward. Working Pattern:
