The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose-built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital that has opened in Birmingham in January 2024. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital has the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery. As part of our Bank you'll have first refusal ahead of agencies on a range of shifts across our network of leading private hospitals, all of which are currently rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by the CQC. It's a fantastic chance to gain exposure to one of the UKs leading private healthcare providers while retaining that all-important flexibility over when and where you work. You can expect to work alongside leading consultants, expert colleagues and be recognised for the vital role you play within our team. As a Surgical First Assist you will: Enhance communication between the perioperative team, ward and patient Completion of the WHO surgical safety checklist Assist with patient positioning on the operating table Assist with skin preparation and draping Skin and deep tissue retraction Handling body tissues / organs Laparoscopic camera and instrument manipulation Cutting ties and sutures Simple wound dressings What you'll bring: Right to work within the UK (sponsorships cannot be provided for Bank staff) HCPC Registration (No restrictions on practice) Experience working in a hospital setting as A Surgical First Assistant SFA Course Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Why HCA UK?
