Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarder to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the transportation of goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while maintaining excellent customer service. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to negotiate effectively with various stakeholders. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Negotiate rates and terms with carriers and suppliers to optimise shipping costs. Collaborate with sales teams to support lead generation efforts and enhance customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of shipments, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs documentation. Liaise with clients to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise during transit. Analyse supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices. Skills Proficiency in transportation management systems and relevant software applications. Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms. Experience in sales management and lead generation within the freight forwarding industry is advantageous. Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems is a plus. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, enabling effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams. Proven experience in freight forwarding sales and operations, with a track record of achieving sales targets. Strong understanding of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and documentation requirements. Problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to clients' logistics challenges. Detail-oriented and highly organised, capable of multitasking and prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability to handle changing market conditions and business demands.
