An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Nithsdale Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for a permanent Band 6 Adult Community Mental Health Nurse to work 37hrs per week. We are a well established, supportive and friendly Community Mental Health Team based in Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Dumfries. In this post, you will work with people mainly under the age of 65 with a variety of mental health conditions. You will be required to assess patients, deliver diagnosis and manage/co-ordinate the care of patients in a person centred, safe and effective way. Other areas of your role will involve supporting/mentoring junior staff, being involved in quality improvement work, taking on the role of duty worker, and working effectively with other members of the immediate and wider MDT. Post registration experience is essential, and community working experience would be an advantage. We cover the Dumfries and Upper Nithsdale catchment area, so you will require the ability to travel independently throughout. PVG clearance is required for this post.
