Due to retirement, we are looking to appoint

a Safety and Compliance Manager

to join the safety team, this to drive UKD's safety and compliance performance. A fantastic opportunity to progress your career, location in South Wales.

Accountabilities

Serve as the Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer, ensuring flawless implementation of our security protocols. Coordinate the Management of Integrated Management System, striving for world-class safety standards. Conduct detailed Incident Investigations and collaborate with collaborators to determine root causes and preventive measures. Act as the primary MCA Liaison, maintaining strict compliance with maritime regulations. Lead the certification processes for ISOQAR- ISO9001, 14001, 45001, and 50000, ensuring our operations meet the highest standards. Deliver comprehensive Training programs to improve team proficiencies and safety awareness. Coordinate biennial wipe tests of radioactive sources in density meters, ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines. Manage the virtual management of medicines service provided to the 3 TSHD, ensuring flawless operational readiness. Review and update UKD's biosecurity plans, staying ahead of industry standards. Conduct annual audits of all vessels and office against requirements in the IMS and legislation, ensuring outstanding compliance. Perform annual audits of the management team to ensure alignment with safety and compliance goals. Monitor hours of rest and address breaches with shipboard or shore-based management teams proactively. Review Safety Meeting Minutes, stepping in or actioning items when required to maintain high safety standards. Implement random drug and alcohol screening for 25% of the crew annually, maintaining a safe working environment. Coordinate biennial noise surveys for each vessel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Essential Skills, Experiences, Qualifications, and Expertise Computer literate with proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Word, and Outlook. Auditing qualifications to ensure outstanding compliance and operational standards. A relevant degree in management, engineering, or physical science from a tertiary institution, or a ship's officer STCW management-level qualification with seagoing experience. Alternatively, other formal education combined with not less than three years' practical senior-level experience in ship management operation.

Ideal Master Mariner certification, showcasing world-class maritime expertise. Dredging Experience, demonstrating a proven track record in specialised maritime operations.
