Trainee Project Officer openings

As a Trainee Project Officer, you will be enrolled on a dedicated 2-year development programme, supported by your line managers and mentors. This role offers genuine potential to progress further. You will be supporting the management of projects from conception to completion. These projects are generally Electrical and Instrumentation upgrades, either in standalone projects or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

How you’ll support us on our mission to keep people safe and warm:

Feasibility and conceptual designs

Technical management and involvement in the detail design stage

Support procurement of materials to ensure compliance with relevant specifications

Onsite supervision of construction activities

Cultivation of a safety culture throughout the projects

Overseeing assigned work programmes from initiation through to programme closure

Ensuring required controls are in place to make sure the team are set to work safely

Team working and integration with other engineering disciplines

What you’ll need:

A recognised

Electrical

or

Instrumentation

qualification and ideally some experience of working in an engineering environment or similar discipline

The ability to inspire and get the best out of their team

An awareness of working within a budget and being cost conscious

Able to think on your feet whilst always being safety aware

Self-motivated, with good attention to detail and a proactive work ethic and have excellent numerical and analytical skills to be able to problem solve

Interested in developing your career within the gas network industry

Able to commit to 2 years of training and development

A full clean driving license and access to a vehicle
