Transport Supervisor

About the Role As a key member of the transport team, the Transport Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day running of our logistics operation, ensuring efficient and compliant delivery of goods across the network. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Managing transport schedules to ensure timely deliveries, adapting to operational challenges as they arise. Supervising a team of drivers and transport operatives, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve performance targets. Ensuring full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachograph regulations and driver hours. Conducting regular performance reviews, training sessions, and briefings to promote development and adherence to company standards. Collaborating with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment across operations. Monitoring KPIs and identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Key Requirements: Proven experience in a busy operational Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment. Comprehensive knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements. Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to inspire and engage your team. Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities. A flexible approach to working patterns to meet the needs of the operation.
