Main duties of the job
The IV Service cares for patients in both clinic settings and their own homes throughout the West Sussex area.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality care within a community setting, working towards patient rehabilitation, self-management, and independence. This role involves managing the day-to-day clinical needs of an identified caseload, undertaking initial assessments, and ongoing management of IV therapy.
Job responsibilities
Deliver high-quality care within the community setting, focusing on intravenous therapy. Manage day-to-day clinical needs of an identified caseload under the guidance of the IV Nurse. Conduct holistic assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress. Act as an information resource for patients, their families, and multidisciplinary colleagues. Empower patients to participate in their care, encouraging self-management and independence. Ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and data protection.

Qualifications
Essential
Registered Nurse (RN) qualification/degree or diploma Evidence of a range of clinical competencies appropriate to the role
Desirable
ENB 998/Mentorship or equivalent or work towards
Experience
Essential
1 year post registration experience Clinical experience of IV therapy delivery and management of vascular access devices
Desirable
Experience in a community setting is desirable
Skills
Essential
Evidence of good numeracy and literacy skills Demonstrates competency in a range of clinical skills including: IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture. IT literate or willing to achieve competency
Desirable
Experience / Proficiency with cannulation or willingness to learn.
