Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Works Manager to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis at Sizewell. Responsibilities: Manage the successful operational delivery of projects, including the management of all site resources (plant and labour).

Maintain a positive and productive working culture by creating a high-performing team.

Mentor and coach subordinates, identifying training requirements and providing feedback to line managers.

Ensure all site activities are carried out in a safe manner with minimal risk to human health.

Promote environmental sustainability and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

Manage the efficient and effective deployment of all resources on the project to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

Contribute to the development of the budget with the project manager, site manager, and quantity surveyor.

Understand the contract program, critical path operations, and critical deliveries.

Plan works ahead and have contingency plans in place for non-delivery of materials or bad weather.

Ensure the highest standards of quality control and security are maintained on site.

Requirements: Proven experience as a Works Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
