Research Fellow – Computational Biologist:

Join the vibrant research team led by Dr. Anne M Pesenacker at UCL’s Institute of Immunity and Transplantation. The team is seeking a Computational Biologist with a Ph.D. or M.Sc. and relevant experience. The position is funded by a VersusArthritis project grant focused on “Treg Fitness as Biomarker for Disease Activity to Predict Treatment Response in JIA.” Research Fellow/Research Assistant – Computational Biologist Ref Number:

Computational Biology, Immunology Location:

London, UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation Ph.D. or M.Sc. with relevant experience. Experience in mathematical modeling, R or Python programming. Ability to design new bioinformatic pipelines. Knowledge in computational methods for deconvolution of RNA expression data. Experience in high-dimensional unbiased analysis (flow cytometry, bulk/single cell RNAseq) is advantageous. Job Description: Conduct computational biology research in collaboration with Dr. Pesenacker’s team. Focus on biomarker discovery and validation for JIA disease activity and treatment response. Work on Treg fitness signatures measured on RNA or protein level. Demonstrate deconvolution of Treg fitness signatures from different RNA sources. Integrate and compare gene/protein expression from various sources to analyze Treg fitness. Opportunity to contribute to other lab projects involving single-cell multiome, bulk RNA seq, and confocal microscopy analysis.
