About our apprenticeships Our apprenticeships are paid roles where you will learn and gain valuable on-the-job experience while also completing classroom-based learning either in person or virtually with a college, university, or training provider, which upon completion of the apprenticeship leads to a nationally recognized qualification. The apprenticeship will typically be undertaken over two to six years depending on the level of the apprenticeship. During this time, you will be provided with real-life experience working on a variety of exciting projects that are helping to shape tomorrow’s world.

Job Description As an Environmental Practitioner Degree Apprentice, your duties will include: Working within environmental and sustainability teams to deliver Sustainability Strategies, Environmental Management Plans, EIAs, and Sustainability Appraisals. Assisting with EIA screening and scoping studies and helping to manage the delivery of EIA and environmental reports. Assisting with the analysis of potential environmental impacts, working with wider multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable designs and produce mitigation plans. Engaging with a diverse range of specialists through the company on different projects, including defence, roads, railways, flood management, and water resources. Getting involved with our Early Career Professionals activities to develop skills and build a network through seminars, training courses, and on-the-job learning. Supporting the organization and undertaking of environmental surveys which may include ecology, air quality, and noise. Producing environmental drawings and plans using digital software including GIS. Environmental data collection, management, review, and analysis. We are currently recruiting into our teams in either Bristol, Cambridge, Croydon, Leeds, London, or Reading. Candidate Specification To join us for an Environmental Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship, you must meet the eligibility requirements of the relevant training provider. These are: 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above including English and Maths. 3 A Levels (or equivalent) with at Grade C or above (96 UCAS points). We are looking for students with the following characteristics: A methodical approach to problem-solving. The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently. Excellent verbal communication skills to confidently liaise with clients and team members. Excellent written communication and attention to detail. From the moment you join us, you’ll receive the training you need. You will be assigned a mentor who will guide you to meet the objectives of your apprentice agreement. What else is involved? You’ll be enrolled onto Accelerate Your Future, a structured three-year soft-skills development programme that develops the strengths that we know apprentices need to be successful at Mott MacDonald. It also gives you the opportunity to network and meet other apprentices and graduates in your cohort. In addition to developing your soft skills, we recognize that each person's career goals vary, so when rolling off the programme, we provide you with the tools and support to develop your ongoing career the way you wish to. You will have access to a vast library of e-learning courses available to you.
