Marketplace Compliance Specialist

Key responsibilities
You will contribute to ensuring products listed on the B&Q Marketplace by verified sellers are compliant with regulatory and contractual requirements, working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure that B&Q continues to meet its legal obligations as an online marketplace.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
Product Onboarding Due Diligence : Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements for selected product categories during onboarding.
Relationship Building : Establish strong working relationships with the wider marketplace team across the Group.
Post-Live Monitoring : Monitor live marketplace listings, removing products as needed. Clearly explain decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
Process Improvement : Actively contribute to enhancing documented processes and procedures.
Investigations and Compliance : Investigate issues arising from customer complaints, reviews, and interactions with verified sellers. Assess technical information and take appropriate action. Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations in various territories.
Corrective Actions and Support : Assist with corrective actions and follow up to ensure implementation.
Legal Compliance Support : Collaborate with the Legal Compliance Manager on ad-hoc matters.
Required skills & experience Required Skills & Experience: Product Compliance Experience : Proven background in product or regulatory compliance, understanding consumer-focused legislation (e.g., product safety, unit pricing, and claims). Broad Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with consumer products (preferably in the DIY and home improvement sector) and sound risk assessment principles. Adaptability : Comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment. Incident Handling : Competent in dealing with incidents promptly and proportionately based on policies. Influence and Independence : Confidently use experience and knowledge to influence others. Self-motivated and capable of independent work. Desired Skills & Experience: Online Marketplace Experience : Worked in an online marketplace or digital retailer in a regulatory capacity.
