Transport Planner Role (Early Shift – January 2025 Start)

As the leading linen hire and laundry service provider to the hospitality industry, our position is growing thanks to our commitment to delivering excellent quality and development of new products to meet the needs of our customers.

We are looking for an experienced and highly efficient Transport planner to join the growing Transport Team at our new Crawley operation, working in a small team from 5am to 2pm.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the drivers and ensure all drivers have reported in for work and have everything they need to start their routes.

Prepare routes for the following day, making sure that all vehicles are the correct size for the routes and are not overloaded.

Utilise all vehicles and relief drivers where necessary to ensure all customers deliveries are made on time and the correct day of delivery.

Monitor memos from the Customer service team for any special deliveries and plan them into the routes.

Work with the transport manager so that you are aware of any vehicles that is VOR and substitute with the correct size vehicle.

Assist the Transport Manager with day-to-day tasks ensuring the office is running as efficiently as possible.

Help out the team in the loading area, or occasionally make deliveries if required.

The above list is not exhaustive and we have a culture of team work and supporting in other areas where necessary which is vital as we ramp up the site operations.

Requirements

Transport experience

CPC a benefit

Good IT literacy – Use emails, office, and company specific software (training given)

Problem solving abilities

An excellent telephone manner and articulate

Organisational skills and be able to cope within a busy office environment

Self-motivation, enthusiasm and be a team player

To be able to work with urgency and accuracy to always find a solution for the customer

40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, flexibility must be shown during busy times.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £30,000 per year
