We are currently seeking an experienced

Digital Forensic Lab Manager

to lead and elevate our team of forensic analysts within the Detego Professional (Outsourced) Services Team.

As the Department Head, your role will involve driving new business initiatives, expanding the team, and evolving the business model of our outsourced lab. The selected candidate will enjoy a competitive salary alongside an uncapped 5% profit share.

Your duties will include developing new business avenues for the outsourced lab, optimising exhibit analysis, and improving related processes. You will oversee, mentor, and manage the Mobile Device Lab, aiding in business growth and ensuring successful outcomes for our clients.

The role demands diligent monitoring and improvement of performance at all levels to guarantee maximum efficiency. This encompasses strong case management, effective use of resources, and a customer-focused mindset.

This office-based position, located at the Detego Global HQ in Horsham, West Sussex, calls for a dynamic individual ready to make a significant contribution. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be a key figure in leading the digital forensic team.

Detego Global is a leading developer of Digital Forensics, Case Management, and Endpoint Solutions, serving a broad client base that includes the Military, Law Enforcement, and Enterprises.

Compensation:

The ideal candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from £42,000 to £51,000, based on experience, plus an uncapped 5% profit share from the outsourced business. Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire team members to achieve their best performance. Assist with basic HR tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback during one-on-one reviews.

Drive the business expansion of the outsourcing arm of Detego Global with the support of the Senior Management Team.

Ensure analysts accurately record time and project notes—spot sample analysts’ output to guarantee adherence to quality and policy requirements.

Effectively assign casework to analysts and utilise Detego Case Manager to proactively manage individual caseloads. This includes ensuring efficiency, meeting deadlines, and monitoring cases.

Address and overcome any challenges that may hinder productivity and impact customer satisfaction.

Manage all aspects of current ISO standards, ensuring processes and documentation are up-to-date and followed.

Actively collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance efficiency, maintain clarity, and meet customer requirements.

Create and maintain a safe, secure, and legally compliant work environment while fostering personal growth opportunities for staff.

Achieve results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees.

Evolve, coordinate, and enforce policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Maintain the overall quality of service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Digital Forensics (with at least two years as a head of department or team leader).

Good understanding of current ACPO guidelines and Forensic Regulator requirements for ISO17025.

Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Ability to expand and drive business models for Digital Forensics outsourcing teams.

Demonstrable leadership skills in monitoring, improving, and adapting a forensic team.

An ability to diagnose issues/problems with digital devices and perform necessary repairs.

Degree level qualification (2:2 or above) BSc in IT, Computer Science or Digital Forensics is desirable.

Ex Law Enforcement or having worked for Law Enforcement in the Digital Forensics space (not essential).

Additional Requirements:

Minimum five years residency in the UK.

Ability to obtain SC clearance within six months of employment.

Driver’s license (optional).
