This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 3 months to meet the needs of the service. The Renal Unit is a diverse department, caring for patients with Renal Failure from pre-dialysis to maintenance dialysis, conservative management, end-of-life care, and supporting patients through transplantation. The role of the staff nurse within the department is diverse, and you will have the opportunity to care for patients undergoing dialysis in various settings. The approach for caring for patients undergoing dialysis is multidisciplinary, involving collaboration with doctors, specialist nurses, dieticians, social workers, psychologists, and the pharmacy department to deliver high-quality continuous care. We are currently providing dialysis to 67 haemodialysis patients, and the department operates during specific hours. You will be required to support the service during these hours and also assist with our on-call service. Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care, working collaboratively with others to meet the needs of haemodialysis patients and their families. The post holder will assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participate in the education, development, and supervision of other staff members. The post holder will be expected to develop their knowledge and skills in renal nursing by working with various renal specialist nurses and other renal ward nurses.
